The Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission was established in 2019 and consists of nearly two dozen Oklahomans from around the state. The Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission is established to plan, coordinate and implement programs and special events to celebrate the historic highway’s centennial in 2026 with the support of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
Additionally, a second separate Oklahoma Route 66 Commission was established in 2022 to fund development along the historic road in Oklahoma. It launched in late 2023 and has additional funding available through a grant process, which can be found here.
