Mark your calendar for a visit to Lake Texoma State Park on January 1 for a free guided hike. Rise early to meet at Ben's Campground at 9am for an easy 1.5- to 2-mile hike along Running Deer Trail. More experienced hikers are invited to meet at the multi-use trail system at 2pm to explore the Bobcat Track Trail for a 4-mile hike. Be sure to bring water and appropriate footwear. 

The event is in conjunction with the America's State Parks First Day Hikes initiative that will take place in all 50 states.  The First Day Hikes offer individuals and families an opportunity to begin the New Year rejuvenating and connecting with the outdoors by taking a healthy hike on the first day of the new year.
