Circle Cinema is Tulsa's only remaining historic cinema house and non-profit theater. Steeped in the city's history, this art house theater specializes in independent, foreign and documentary film screenings, along with premieres of locally-produced and directed films. Circle Cinema also regularly holds film events featuring speakers and audience discussions.

Debuting in 1928 in the Chilton Building, the theater was constructed just after the silent film age and during the dawn of a new cinematic era. Located in the historic Whittier Square Shopping Center, Circle Cinema is architecturally noteworthy for its unusual height, colorful brick and narrow setback.

Generations of Tulsans remember the theater's popularity with young crowds in its early years. The ten-cent price of a movie ticket included a feature film and serials. “The Green Hornet” serials drew neighborhood children to the theater, while adults enjoyed films like James Bond series “Goldfinger” and rerun double-bills of “Dr. No” and “From Russia With Love.”

Now, guests can visit Circle Cinema to view films outside the realm of mainstream fare while enjoying the ambiance of this historical movie theater.
