Ardmore Public Library
The Ardmore Public Library features an extensive collection of genealogy resources. One of the largest resources is the McGalliard Collection, containing photographs, documents and memorabilia related to the area, as well as archives of "The Reporter's Notebook," a column that was featured in "The Daily Ardmoreite." Over 3,000 photographs and over 12,000 searchable documents are accessible in the collection, which is archived in the library. Copies of "The Daily Ardmoreite," marriage records of the Chickasaw Nation and Federal Census Records from 1900-1930, are all available on microfilm. Dawes Rolls and application packets can be accessed at the Ardmore Public Library, as well as local maps and Sanborn Maps from 1924-1940. Other resources available in the library include the Mary Turner Kinard Indexes to Marriage Records, cemetery records for Carter County and local funeral home records.
There are 17 Internet-accessible computers in the Ardmore Public Library for public use. These subscription-based genealogy research websites are available in the library free of charge: Heritage Quest, Ancestry, Fold 3 and World Vital Records.
