Old Frisco Trail
Get off the beaten path and explore the Old Frisco Trail in Poteau. Although the Frisco Railroad lines are gone, the trail it left behind is still in use, frequented by walkers, runners and mountain bikers. Not only is the trail's woodland foliage beautiful year round, it also helps shield hikers from the onslaught of strong elements such as wind and sun. Most of this free trail features a crushed stone surface along with carved mile markers. The Old Frisco also runs right by lovely Cavanal Lake, bridges featuring colorful murals and is home to several annual organized runs.
