Since its founding in 1899, the Yukon Czech Hall has been the center of Czech-American culture in Oklahoma. The building, which was constructed in 1901 on land donated by Czech immigrants, has been recognized as a state and national historic site. In an effort to preserve Czech-American heritage, the hall has been opening its doors every Saturday night since 1930 for a polka dance. All ages are invited to attend to enjoy live music, dancing, klobasy sandwiches and other treats. Yukon’s Czech Hall also hosts special events for Valentine’s Day, Halloween, New Year’s Eve, Masopust (known as the Czech Mardi Gras) and Czech Day.
