In the late 1990s, Palmer Studios brought their brushes to Kingfisher Park in Kingfisher, Oklahoma and added a mural to the wall of the building within the park that houses a small train. As park goers tour through the park via this train, they may be able to spot a representation of Apostle Paul Sykes displayed on the north side of the railroad tracks. Palmer Studios created this mural to depict the story of a Mississippi slave who walked to Kingfisher, Oklahoma in 1891 after being granted his freedom.

This former slave, Apostle Paul Sykes, went on to become a gospel minister in this Oklahoma town, where he preached and performed to incoming Rock Island passenger trains at the Kingfisher Depot. Palmer Studios added this painting of Apostle Paul Sykes to the Kingfisher Park train wall in memory of the Kingfisher preacher who once sang and danced to his own “Old Ark’s a Movin’” song for train passengers who passed through this Oklahoma town.
