In 2004, Alva Mural Society commissioned Don Gray to create a mural in honor of Charles Morton Share. This “Charles Share” mural details the life of this Alva citizen, whose family amassed a sizeable fortune, which Share turned into the Charles Morton Share Trust. This WWI veteran has funded many Alva buildings through the trust over the years, including the library, hospital and Bill Johnson Correction Center. The Charles Morton Share Trust also helped create the wellness facility at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and the professional building where this mural stands.
