In 2008, the Downtown Edmond Arts Council commissioned Bob Palmer, local mural artist and instructor at University of Central Oklahoma, to create a mural during the downtown arts festival. Palmer constructed the “Historical Edmond Mural” on the walls of Weathers TV in Edmond as part of a live mural painting demonstration spanning the three-day festival. Palmer chose to include images of a television van, a bank, a trolley and a familiar UCO building, known as Old North, to best depict the history of Edmond.
