Max's Garage
Looking for a fun night on the town in historic downtown Muskogee? Max’s Garage is the place to be. Knock back a couple cold ones, cheer for your favorite sports team, take in some live music and feast on elevated barroom fare at this converted former auto shop. With three distinct bar concepts inside—sports, country and western, and classic neighborhood saloon—there is more than one route to a good time at Max’s Garage.
Enjoy a cold craft beer while you decide between burgers, tacos and loaded cheese fries. Be a hero and order a plate of buffalo chicken wings for the table as you talk it over. (They’re 59 cents a piece on Sundays, so you can be extra generous without breaking the bank.) If it’s down-home comfort food you’re after, come for dinner and tuck into classic homemade meatloaf with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, thick wedges of Texas toast and a fresh side salad. Drop in on Fridays for a southern seafood buffet featuring gumbo, okra, shrimp, frog legs, catfish and more. There are plenty of options at Max’s Garage, but leaving hungry isn’t one of them.
Stay after dinner and enjoy live music from local and traveling musicians, or “Thunder Up” with passionate locals for a televised game in the sports bar area. Make new friends or re-connect with old ones at Max’s Garage and see why this neighborhood bar and restaurant has been a Muskogee institution for more than a decade.
