Boley, OK

Founded in 1903 as a camp for Black railroad construction workers, Boley flourished as a town because of its fertile farmland, which was distributed as allotments to Creek-Freedmen. It was also billed as a haven where African Americans could govern themselves, drawing settlers from Texas, Georgia and Florida. Booker T. Washington called Boley "the most enterprising and... interesting" of All-Black towns.
Experience this unique town's history and learn about its significance as one of Oklahoma's 13 remaining All-Black towns on a tour of the area. Contact Boley Tours at 918-667-9790 for more information.
