In 2006, the Shawnee beautification committee set out to transform the boring brick walls of several locations within its city limits. Palmer Studios, based in Edmond, brought their paints to Shawnee to spruce up the wall of Carpet Supermarket, turning it into a historical mural highlighting well-known downtown buildings like the Santa Fe railroad depot.
