Amish School Auction, Crafts & Antique Show
An estimated 10,000 people will travel to the southwest corner of Coal County on the second Saturday in September to attend one of the most popular auctions in the state. The Amish School Auction, Crafts & Antique Show includes a bake sale, farm equipment, livestock, tack, crafts, antiques and collectibles. Horses, poultry, farm-related items and plenty of homemade baked goods of every kind will also be available for auction.
The auction takes place at the Raymond Miller home. Start the day with breakfast, served from 7-10am, then place your bids as hand-sewn quilts, antiques, glassware and furniture are auctioned off. This event is organized by a group of about 20 families of the Amish lifestyle, and approximately 200 booths will be set up. Visitors to the Amish Auction, Crafts & Antique Show will be able to peruse numerous booths set up by Amish women selling sandwiches and homemade noodles. So, pick up a tasty treat and enjoy lunch as you browse. There will also be numerous homemade pies, cakes, breads and a large assortment of goodies to take home and enjoy later.
