Head to the annual Seminole Nation Days for a weekend of family fun. This event kicks off Thursday at 6pm with the Seminole Nation Princess Competition at the Seminole State College Haney Center. On Friday evening, bring the whole family to the free live concert. There will also be a 5K run at the Mekususkey Mission and intertribal stomp dance at the arena grounds. In the event of bad weather, the dance will be moved to the Mekusukey Mission Gymnasium. A free carnival will also run all weekend long.
Activities continue on Saturday with the Seminole Nation Days Parade in downtown Seminole at 10am and other sports activities scheduled for Seminole Nation Days include a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, horseshoe tournament, frybread eating contest, softball tournaments and cultural demonstrations. Stick around on Saturday evening for a concert and fireworks show. Food vendors will be on hand throughout the event.
On Sunday, the Seminole Nation Days Powwow will start at 1pm for gourd dancing. The grand entry will be held at 6pm.
