Kick off Claremore’s Route 66 Centennial celebration with the Andy Payne Route 66 Race this April. Named in honor of famed Cherokee runner Andrew Harley Payne—who famously won the 1928 C.C. Pyle’s International Transcontinental Footrace from Los Angeles to Chicago along the Mother Road—this race pays tribute to his incredible achievement. Hosted by the Claremore Museum of History, the event features both a 5K and a Fun Run, with all proceeds benefiting the museum. Lace up your shoes, hit the pavement at Claremore High School and be part of the excitement as you celebrate 100 years of Route 66 during the Andy Payne Route 66 Race.
