Learn about Wild West icon and "Queen of the Cowgirls" Lulu Bell Parr with author Diane Helentjaris at the Oklahoma History Center in April. Helentjaris will discuss her book "I Ain't Afraid: The World of Lulu Bell Parr, Wild West Cowgirl." In 1903, Parr pivoted her life as a divorced, uneducated Midwesterner to join Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show. She went on to become an outstanding horsewoman, toured the world, and even flirted with death a few times. Saddle up for Helentjaris' inspiring presentation about this trailblazer who fled mediocrity and made a name for herself as a world-class performer.
