Stop 1: Tulsa Central High School
Before heading to Los Angeles in the early 1960s, JJ Cale spent his teenage years at Tulsa Central High School, where he graduated in 1956.

Stop 2: Cain's Ballroom
JJ Cale’s live performance at Cain’s Ballroom in 2004, one of his last live performances in Oklahoma before his death, was recorded for the 2006 documentary “To Tulsa and Back: On Tour with JJ Cale.” Cain’s honored the musician with a star bearing his name, located directly outside the popular venue.

Stop 4: The Church Studio/Shelter Records
JJ Cale was a self-taught audio engineer and worked for the legendary Leon Russell at his Church Studio. Cale would go on to release several solo albums under Shelter Records during the 1970s.
