Garvin County, located in south-central Oklahoma, was named after Samuel J. Garvin, a prominent cattleman, merchant and banker. By statehood in 1907, two rail lines already served the county and a stage line crossed the Washita River near Pauls Valley. The restored 1905 Santa Fe Depot Museum in Pauls Valley is filled with local and railroad history items. Also located in Pauls Valley, the Toy and Action Figure Museum has something for kids of all ages.
