Mark your calendar for a visit to Robbers Cave State Park near Wilburton on January 1 for a free guided hike. Meet at the lodge for a pair of moderate hikes on the Belle Starr Loop. Bring your binoculars, camera, water and appropriate dress for a cool weather hike. Prep beforehand with hot chocolate, coffee, water, black-eyed peas and trail mix. 

The event is held in conjunction with the America's State Parks First Day Hikes initiative that will take place in all 50 states. First Day Hikes encourage individuals and families to start the year off on the right foot with a trek through a state park.
