Enjoy authentic family entertainment at its finest during the annual Chuck Wagon Festival, held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Come to this much-loved festival for amazing stage entertainment from a hilarious Old West show to the sounds of acclaimed Western singers and musicians. Featured on the Food Network's "Top Five: Summer Sensations" program, the Chuck Wagon Festival is known for its mouthwatering food. Authentic chuck wagon crews will be on-hand to prepare delicious cowboy favorites for folks to sample including biscuits and stew, beans and cobbler.
Activities at the annual Chuck Wagon Festival include stagecoach and covered wagon rides, weaving and rope making. Bring the kids for pony rides, bandana designing, paper fan decorating, coloring and leather crafting. Whether taking a photo with a Longhorn steer or enjoying a cowboy yarn in the popular storyteller's tent, this festival is a guaranteed hit for Memorial Day weekend.
Visitors can also find their way up the hill to enjoy the sprawling museum complex or watch their children take part in the hands-on activities in the children’s building. The museum's indoor Children's Cowboy Corral offers plenty of entertainment that includes mounting real saddles, dressing up in cowboy gear and pretending to cook in a real chuck wagon camp.
