All-Black Towns Bus Tour
Learn about Oklahoma's African-American history during the All-Black Towns Bus Tour. Between 1865 and 1915, there were roughly 60 black towns settled in the United States, and Oklahoma led all the other states with more than 20 within its borders. Learn the fascinating history of these towns on this unique tour.
Two buses, each with a historian aboard, will take visitors to traditionally all-black towns in Oklahoma. Once there, local historians and citizens will tell the guests the history of their town and their part in Oklahoma's history.
This all-day tour event will depart from Rudisill Regional Library in Tulsa and travel to the historic areas like Redbird, Tullahassee and the Fort Gibson Historic Site. Space is limited, so please purchase tickets in advance at Rudisill Regional Library in person. Ticket cost covers breakfast, lunch and museum fare.
